Color Festival
The Colour Festival brought art to the forefront, engaging young people during the national World AIDS Day event in Nairobi, focusing on HIV prevention, testing, and treatment. This vibrant initiative used color as a creative way to share important health messages, tackle stigma, and spark conversations around HIV, sexual and gender-based violence, mental health, and teenage pregnancy. Each color symbolized a specific health theme, making the information more relatable and easier to grasp. Over 500 young individuals, aged 15 to 30, participated in fun activities like face painting, music, dance, and peer-to-peer interactions. The program also offered HIV testing services, condom distribution, and shared valuable information in a welcoming environment for youth. The Colour Festival was organized by the Maisha Youth movement under the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council, aiming to empower young people to make informed choices and embrace healthier lifestyles.
